Video: Large Quantities of Drugs Discovered During Hotel Search

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in collaboration with police officers, has uncovered a case of illegal drug trafficking involving several individuals. This operation was the result of planned and coordinated extensive investigative activities.

During the search of the said hotel complex, significant quantities of various types of drugs and drug preparation tools were discovered. Specifically, 32.81 grams of methamphetamine in different vials, 31.12 grams of marijuana, and 26.25 grams of a substance resembling heroin were found, as well as unused syringes, droppers, electronic scales, empty bags with 'Zip' closures, a metal spoon with traces of burnt white substance, a partially filled medical alcohol container, a glass vial with distilled water, and more.

Additionally, mobile phones and computers were seized. Chemical and forensic examinations have been scheduled to determine the composition of the seized substances. Preliminary conclusions from the examinations indicate that several of the packages contained methamphetamine.

During the investigation, evidence emerged that the individuals involved were using the Telegram application, a well-known platform for online drug sales, to facilitate drug trafficking. The hotel cottage rented by one of the individuals allegedly served as a space for the preparation and packaging of drugs, where hotel staff were prohibited from entering.

A 39-year-old man has been charged under Article 393, Part 2, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Code, while two individuals born in 1984 have been charged under Article 393, Part 3, Clause 2. Both have been remanded in custody, while the court has rejected the investigator's request for pre-trial detention for one of them.
