Who is the Candidate for the Chief of the Patrol Service
The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that, according to its sources, a likely candidate has been identified for the position of the Chief of the Patrol Service, and this issue will be raised. According to information received, the candidate is Arthur Khudinyan, the Deputy Chief of the Yerevan Police Department of the newly formed Ministry of Internal Affairs.
His nomination will be proposed within the law enforcement system, and it remains to be seen whether he will agree to take the position. The newspaper notes that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been struggling for a long time to find a Chief for the Patrol Service, looking for someone from within the system capable of overseeing and regulating the service while bringing about real reforms.
It should be mentioned that on February 16, Arthur Umrshatyan, the head of the Patrol Service, was dismissed from his position. He was removed after a group of patrol officers were unable to stop the "Hamerin" from making reckless and dangerous turns on the sidewalks of Republic Square for an extended period. By the time they managed to apprehend the situation, the driver had already fled. The young man was arrested and detained some time later.
The "Zhoghovurd" newspaper has previously consistently highlighted staffing issues, noting that there are no deputy ministers and that positions have been left vacant for months or even years.
