VIDEO: Paris in Flames and Smoke Amidst Clashes in France

Paris was engulfed in flames and smoke last night. Almost all the trash accumulated since March 9 has been burned in the city, as garbage collectors have been on strike since that date.

For several weeks now, protests have been taking place in France against pension reforms. These demonstrations have been accompanied by clashes with security forces.

Participants in the protest are setting fire to trash in the streets of the French capital, launching fireworks at security forces, and provoking police into severe arrests.

In response, the police have been using tear gas. Protests and unrest have been ongoing for several weeks in Paris and other cities across France.

As a result of the vehement disagreement over the pension reforms adopted by Macron's government, 855 people have already been arrested.
