Legislation Passed: Prosecutors' Salaries Set to Almost Double

The National Assembly has fully approved the draft amendments to the Law on Compensation for Public Officials and State Service Employees on its second reading.

The reform includes provisions for the qualification assessment within the prosecutorial system; however, the increase in prosecutors' salaries will not be contingent upon this assessment.

From now on, in addition to their salaries, prosecutors will receive a monthly supplement equivalent to 92 percent of their official salary grade. The salary increase will be implemented through supplements, as changing the coefficients determining salary amounts could create systemic imbalances within the remuneration system for public officials and state employees.
