VIDEO: New Clashes in France Between Protesters and Security Forces

Clashes have erupted in France between protesters opposing controversial pension reforms and security forces. The police have begun to aggressively detain protesters, using tear gas and batons.

In Lyon, several arrests occurred after the fifth round of protests against the pension reforms. It is worth noting that none of the opposition's motions to express no confidence in the government garnered enough votes, thus clearing the way for Macron's administration to implement the reforms. The first proposal received 278 votes, just nine votes shy of the 287 needed for acceptance.

Earlier, protesters against the pension reforms had gathered at the Place Vauban in Paris while the French parliament was discussing the motions of no confidence against the government.
