Peskov Reveals What Putin Prepares for Xi Jinping

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, always keeps Russian ice cream ready for his guest, Chinese President Xi Jinping, said the press secretary of the head of state, Dmitry Peskov.

“Definitely,” Peskov responded to the question of whether Moscow would offer Russian ice cream to the Chinese leader. “The ice cream is always ready, considering that Xi Jinping loves it very much,” added Peskov.

A few years ago, during the Eastern Economic Forum, Chinese businessmen told Putin that Russian ice cream is very popular in China. During his latest visit to China in 2016, the president brought a box of ice cream as a gift for Xi Jinping. “Since President Xi Jinping mentioned that he loves Russian ice cream, I brought it as a gift; we exchanged a few little things,” explained the Russian head of state at that time.

In 2019, when both leaders were in Dushanbe for a summit focused on strengthening cooperation and trust in Asia, Putin drove to Xi Jinping's residence and also gifted him ice cream for his birthday.
