Raffi Hovhannisyan Issues a Statement
The leader of the "Heritage" party, Raffi Hovhannisyan, has issued a statement.
"Everything has been said, but nothing has been done... It is not worth even a single extra breath to address the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's already openly treacherous and ever-changing justifications regarding Armenia's past, present, and future. That is enough. Our Homeland and the state framework must leap forward from the edge of the abyss, and it is also sufficient that truly devoted citizens and political fighters continue the national sad tradition of self-promotion, self-adulation, hidden envy, and fleeing from their own flawed paths. If we do not change internally and immediately, there will be no replacement of darkness with light, no victory of purified good over the utmost evil, and no necessary opportunity for a new chapter in the state's existence in Armenia.
Let us leave behind the retrospective justifications concerning all political, military, diplomatic, negotiation, economic, and other aspects of contemporary Armenian history. Let’s take action—plenty of action—let’s speak anew: through messages, press conferences, I don’t know, "statuses," and then, transforming into a comprehensive and truthful collective power. Just as at the beginning, it is not worth delving into how 'it came about,' who brought it, on whose shoulders, what good and bad deeds were done. Instead, we must simply focus on the class of viable republics, on the public outlook, on the civic-national life that we are duty-bound to secure by our homeland-derived rights.
Only then, and only after that—out of love for future generations."
