Licensing Procedures for Medical Institutions and Pharmacies to Change: Licensing Will Become Five Years

The draft amendments to the "Law on Licensing" stipulate that medical centers and pharmacies will be licensed for a period of five years. This was stated by the Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a meeting of the Health Committee of the National Assembly.

"The amendment to the law establishes that we will review the indefinite licensing provision for medical centers and pharmacies and set the licensing period to five years. This change is aimed at achieving our strategic objective, which is to improve the quality of medical assistance and align with the trends of ever-evolving medicine. As we know, in Armenia, medical centers and pharmacies were licensed indefinitely, which creates problems, as a medical center that received a license at that time remains bound by the regulations established in that year," said Avanesyan, adding that in such cases, it becomes very difficult to ensure the continuous development of medical centers and pharmacies.
