Germany has become independent from Russian gas, oil, and coal, says Scholz
Germany has become independent from Russian gas, oil, and coal supplies, and this has not led to an economic crisis. This was stated by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during an interview with CNN.
“We have secured our independence from the supply of Russian gas, coal, and oil. A year ago, no one expected that we would easily overcome a situation where gas supplies from Russia to Germany and many parts of Europe would no longer be carried out,” he said.
In the interview, Scholz also stated that the West is ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine after the end of the conflict. However, in his opinion, the time for that has not yet come. He considered the withdrawal of Russian troops as the basis for peaceful negotiations.
