The Fire in Kapan Has Not Been Extinguished for the Third Day

The firefighting operations have resumed in Kapan, following the fire that broke out on March 12. This information has been reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

According to the statement, "On March 15, at 07:20, an operational group from the regional emergency management department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene to resume extinguishing operations."

Recall that on March 12, at 13:23, the Syunik regional crisis management center received a call reporting that vegetation was burning on the hillside adjacent to the Baghaberd neighborhood in Kapan (approximately 22 hectares). An operational group from the regional emergency management department and two firefighting units were sent to the location.

On March 13-14, firefighting efforts continued but were temporarily halted, and a duty was established. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as of March 14 at 17:15, the fire was localized.
