Record Inflation in Artsakh: 'Zhoghvoroud'

The newspaper 'Zhoghvoroud' reports that residents of Artsakh are increasingly sounding the alarm about record inflation in the region, particularly noting that the prices of fruits and vegetables have reached astronomical figures.

"In the conditions of full blockade of Artsakh, it has become nearly impossible to import food products in recent days. We have received reports from Artsakh that the price for 1 kilogram of tomatoes has reached 3,000-3,500 AMD, eggplants cost 3,500 AMD, and bell peppers are around 4,500 AMD. The price for 1 kg of chocolate (which is almost nonexistent) ranges between 7,000-8,000 AMD," stated the report.

'Zhoghvoroud' has learned that many types of fruits and vegetables, such as apples, oranges, and carrots, are simply unavailable. "We are walking around with our receipts but cannot buy even the most basic fruits or vegetables from the stores," said one of our interlocutors from Artsakh.

At the same time, unemployment in Artsakh has increased, and salaries have sharply decreased. As a result, residents of Artsakh, who have been under blockade for more than three months and are directly under enemy fire, are tragically bearing the consequences of a humanitarian disaster.
