Pashinyan Detailed What He Discussed with Putin During Their Phone Conversation
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday regarding the risk of escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Prime Minister made this statement during a press conference held today.
“I conveyed my impressions and mentioned that I believe there are issues in the areas under the responsibility of Russian forces in Nagorno-Karabakh,” Pashinyan noted while providing details of the phone conversation.
He recalled the killing of law enforcement officers in Nagorno-Karabakh several days ago, which occurred in the peacekeeping forces' area of responsibility, and stated that this is concerning for him.
“I felt it necessary to communicate these concerns to the President of Russia,” Pashinyan added.
When asked what President Vladimir Putin said in response to Pashinyan’s concerns, the Prime Minister deemed it inappropriate to respond, noting that if official Moscow finds it appropriate, it will make a public announcement.
It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's press conference is currently ongoing.
