More Than 20 Terrorists Arrested in Iran
Iranian intelligence has arrested 21 terrorists from the "People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran" (PMOI), a leftist radical group, who were plotting to carry out a series of diversions within the country. This information was reported by Tasnim, citing a statement from the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence.
"Several members of the terrorist group have been identified and arrested, along with the discovery of explosives, hand grenades, and homemade mortars... The PMOI group (21 individuals) was arrested in Tehran. They planned to conduct several diversionary and vandalistic actions," the statement noted.
The PMOI has played a significant role during the Iranian Revolution and the Iran-Iraq War. Following the revolution and the rise of Ayatollah Khomeini to power in 1979, this leftist radical organization began its struggle against the Islamic Republic.
