‘Brussels Format is Ineffective, No Meeting Scheduled Between the Leaders of the Two Countries’: Pashinyan

During a meeting with reporters today, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that more than 10 agreements have been made with Azerbaijan during various formats of meetings, but they have not been implemented. "Let’s start with the operation of the railway, the return of prisoners, the withdrawal of troops, and so on," Pashinyan stated.

According to the Prime Minister, if Azerbaijan uses negotiations only to justify escalations, this is an unacceptable approach. "Negotiations should become a guarantee of stability. I am ready to take responsibility for signing documents that will not be a dream document, but will also not give grounds for evasion," he said.

Pashinyan believes that negotiations in Prague were more effective than those in Brussels; however, according to the Prime Minister, Baku prefers to work in a less effective format. "If Azerbaijan does not like the presence of France in the Prague format, it can be expanded to invite, for example, Germany or the USA," said the government head.

The Prime Minister also mentioned that at this moment there is no meeting scheduled between the leaders of the two countries, but added that when there are no negotiations, the risk of escalation increases.
