Yerevan Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonian is Not Arrested: Levon Sardarayan
“Dear colleagues: Since I have already answered about 40 phone calls and, I assume, there may be another 40 calls, I find it preferable at this moment to share the information I have here.
Yerevan Deputy Mayor Gevorg Simonian is not arrested, nor has he been taken into custody with handcuffs or through any other form of coercion, and, at this point, he does not have any legal status.
Mr. Simonian has gone to the Anti-Corruption Committee at the invitation of its employees, who conducted a search in his office, to provide explanations. That’s all. I kindly ask that you cease the spread of misinformation on one hand, and on the other hand, I thank all my colleagues who called, verified the information, and only then published it,” Levon Sardarayan, head of the Yerevan Municipality's information department, stated on his Facebook page.
Earlier, we reported that Yerevan Deputy Mayor and former Deputy Minister of Health Gevorg Simonian had been arrested, referring to “Hayastani Hamaynk.”
