In Saint-Denis, workers from the entire energy sector have staged a protest, cutting off power to several municipal buildings. In Marseille, protesters have blocked traffic at the main railway hub of Saint-Charles station.
Demonstrators are also obstructing traffic on federal highways and toll roads across the country.
