VIDEO: Explosion Destroys Two Floors of Residential Building in Russia, Injuries Reported

An explosion occurred in a residential building in Chita, Russia, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) of Russia.

The explosion took place in a five-story building on Borovaya Street, in the Antipikha village area of Chita, destroying the fourth and fifth floors, according to EMERCOM.

The information about the emergency explosion has also been confirmed by the territorial office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, adding that the explosion was caused by domestic gas.

The agency reported on the number of injured. Emergency services stated that at least five apartments have been damaged.

According to reports, two children and a dog have been rescued from the debris. Rescue teams are currently searching for a woman believed to be trapped under the rubble.

So far, a total of 8 individuals have been successfully rescued. Search efforts are ongoing.

The death toll from the gas explosion has reached six, while 11 people have been saved.
