New Tegh-Kornidzor Road from Armenia to Artsakh Expected to Open on April 1
The Tegh-Kornidzor road segment, part of the new route from Armenia to Artsakh and the Lachin corridor, is expected to be opened for traffic on April 1. This was announced by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, noting that asphalt paving works will commence soon.
"Construction works on the road will continue, and by summer, the road will be completely three-layer asphalted and equipped with road signs," the statement said.
The head of the agency, Gnel Sanosyan, also observed the progress of the Tegh-Kornidzor road construction during his visit to the Syunik region.
It is worth recalling that the joint statement made by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and Russian President Vladimir Putin on November 9, 2020, mentioned that, with the agreement of the parties, a plan will be established for the construction of a new route that ensures the connection between Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia via the Lachin corridor over the next three years. This includes the further redeployment of Russian peacekeeping forces for the purpose of securing the route.
