If No Disasters Occur, 2 Million Tourists Are Expected to Visit Armenia This Year

If no disasters occur in Armenia and the tourism sector continues to develop, it will be possible to exceed the 2019 figures (approximately 1.9 million tourists) and have about 2 million tourists this year. This was stated by Mekhak Apresyan, president of the Armenian Tourism Federation.

According to previously published data, it is expected that by 2026, Armenia will host 2.5 million tourists annually. "Achieving 2.5 million tourists by 2026 does not require great efforts. In the coming 2-3 years, we can easily reach that figure. The other matter is that we need to think about how many tourists we need to ensure sustainable tourism," emphasized Apresyan.
