Georgian Ruling Party Claims Saakashvili Suddenly 'Stopped Dying'

The ruling 'Georgian Dream' party chairman Irakli Kobakhidze drew attention to the fact that former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili has 'suddenly stopped dying.' Kobakhidze made this statement during a press conference at the party's office.

'Saakashvili has been imprisoned for 520 days, and only in these past two weeks has he 'not died.' This demonstrates how false the campaign surrounding him is,' the political figure was quoted by Sputnik Georgia.

Previously, the leader of the opposition 'United National Movement,' founded by former President Mikheil Saakashvili, Levan Khabeishvili, called on citizens of the country not to give up and not to allow the adoption of bills on 'foreign agent registration.'

Protests occurred in Georgia against the law on foreign agents that was adopted in the first reading. Special forces used tear gas and water cannons to disperse the demonstrators around the Georgian parliament.
