50-Year-Old Man Stabs 61-Year-Old Friend in Yerevan, Victim Strikes Back with a Shovel
In the Nubarashen district of Yerevan, a 50-year-old man stabbed his 61-year-old friend during an argument. The information was provided by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
The incident occurred on February 28, but the assailant was identified only on March 5.
"The police received a report from the emergency services that on February 28, they provided assistance to a 61-year-old man who had sustained stab wounds to his back but refused hospitalization. The police officers determined that one hour prior to the alert, during a dispute, the victim had been stabbed three times in the back by his 50-year-old friend, after which the injured man struck him on the head with a shovel," the statement said.
It is noted that eventually, the victim was transported to the 'Erebuni' medical center.
A criminal case was initiated regarding the incident. Thanks to the measures taken by the police, the assailant was apprehended on March 5, arrested, and taken to the police station. A knife, identified as the weapon used in the crime, was found during a personal search.
The investigative body is trying to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
