School Bus Carrying Children Met with Accident in France
On Saturday, a school bus was involved in an accident in the southeastern French department of Isère. At least sixteen people have been reported injured.
According to local media, the incident occurred near the town of Còrnas. The driver lost control of the vehicle, which exited the highway at high speed and fell into a deep pit.
After the holidays, the schoolchildren from the Hautes-Alpes department were en route to the Grenoble train station to catch a train to Paris, as reported by TASS.
As a result of the incident, at least 16 individuals sustained injuries of varying severity, with the condition of four being assessed as extremely serious. In total, there were 40 elementary school students and 6 accompanying adults on the bus.
Dozens of rescuers are working at the accident site, and an official investigation has been launched into the matter.
