VIDEO: Thousands of Belgian Farmers Block Brussels City Center with Tractors

Thousands of Belgian farmers have arrived in the center of Brussels with tractors, demanding the cancellation of a program to shut down dozens of farms, reports a correspondent from RIA Novosti.

The protesters have blocked the central part of the city. Authorities are advising residents to avoid traveling to the area.

The protest is prompted by plans to close more than 40 farms by 2025 for environmental reasons, in line with European Union requirements.
