Grossi Arrives in Iran: Details on Scheduled Meetings
The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, arrived in the Iranian capital on Friday. This was reported by the IRNA news agency.
Grossi was welcomed by Behrouz Kamalvandi, the official representative of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization.
Earlier, on March 2, the Fars news agency reported that Grossi would meet with Iranian officials immediately upon his arrival in Tehran to discuss 'various issues.'
According to Euronews, the IAEA chief is also expected to meet with President Ebrahim Raisi to discuss the 'resumption of dialogue' surrounding the Iran nuclear deal.
Grossi's visit comes against the backdrop of negotiations with Tehran regarding the origins of enriched uranium particles reaching 83.7 percent. Experts suggest that this level is dangerously close to the potential for nuclear weapons capability.
The head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, Mohamad Eslami, recently denied claims, stating that the country has uranium enriched to 60 percent.
