Warning: Internet Fraudsters Using Names of Armenian Prime Minister, President, and Parliament Speaker

The National Security Service of Armenia has issued a warning regarding online fraud activities. On January 27 of this year, the NSS published a statement on its official website alerting citizens about a widespread international fraud scheme.

According to investigations conducted by the NSS's Information Security and Government Relations Department, despite the service's informative announcements, the organizers of the fraud scheme continue to disseminate misleading content over the internet. They are urging Armenian citizens to make small investments in the 'securities' of Gazprom Armenia and to engage in 'selling gas', falsely promising substantial returns through various websites and social media.

It has also been revealed that the fraudsters have altered their tactics, now mentioning high-ranking state officials as sponsors of the project to gain citizens' trust—specifically the names of the Prime Minister, President, and Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia.

The National Security Service is once again calling on citizens to avoid falling into the temptation of participating in international fraud schemes, to refrain from investing in suspicious programs posted on unofficial websites, and not to provide personal and bank account information in order to prevent financial losses.
