Vazgen Tevanyan (65 kg) secured the gold medal by defeating the representative from the USA in the final with a score of 8:2.

Tevanyan achieved victory in his opening match with a score of 8:0 against Georgia's Bolkvadze, followed by a win of 11:0 against Egypt's Amin Morad, and then defeated a Uzbek wrestler with a score of 4:0.
