Snow in Syunik, Vardenis, and Jermuk: Current Situation on Armenian Roads

The rescue service informs that there are closed and impassable roads in the territory of Armenia. The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to Amberd Fortress and the Karchi Lake are closed.

The Vardenyants pass (with snow and blizzard) is closed only for trucks with trailers. The Berd-Chambarak and Zangakatun-Tigranashen roads are difficult to traverse due to blizzard conditions, as well as the Dilijan and Spitak bends (for trucks).

On the Spitak bends, on the roads in Gegharkunik and Aragats regions, there are patches of black ice. Snowfall is reported in the Saravan-Zanger section, Tigranashen curves, and in the areas of Syunik, Chambarak, Martuni, Vardenis, and Jermuk.

Regarding Lars, according to information from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed only for trucks.
