VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo Joins National Dance in Traditional Arab Attire with Sword in Hand
Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, alongside his Al-Nassr teammates, celebrated the founding day of Saudi Arabia, as reported by Al-Arabiya. With a sword in hand and dressed in traditional Arab attire, the football star joined the national dance.
On his Twitter microblog, Ronaldo shared a video of the dance and congratulated Saudi Arabia, noting that it was a "special experience" for him to participate in the celebration.
The video shows the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who signed a 2.5-year contract with Al-Nassr in December, wearing a traditional Arab kandura, a long white tunic that reaches his ankles, adorned with a colorful scarf. He is seen drinking traditional Arabic coffee with other footballers and later participating in the men's traditional dance, the "Arda," while wielding a sword.
Ronaldo was also photographed wearing a long cloak, the "Dakla," which is embroidered with golden threads, commonly worn by men in Saudi Arabia for special occasions.
In 2023, Saudi Arabia celebrates its founding day for the second time, commemorating the establishment of the first Saudi state in 1727 under Imam Muhammad bin Saud.
