VIDEO: Aleppo After the Earthquake - Ararat Mirzoyan's Visit to Syria

On February 23, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan arrived in Aleppo, Syria. At the airport, he was welcomed by the governor of Aleppo, Hussein Diab.

Ararat Mirzoyan visited the Shaar district, which was affected by the earthquake, where rescue operations had been carried out by Armenian rescuers in the days following the earthquake, and assessed the situation.

The minister also held a meeting in Aleppo with employees of the 'Humanitarian Demining and Expertise Center of Armenia' state agency.

As previously reported, the President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Bashar al-Assad, received the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Damascus. The two discussed the ongoing situation in the earthquake-affected regions of Syria and the efforts being made to address the existing challenges. The agenda also included issues related to Armenian-Syrian bilateral relations. They touched upon cooperation within international platforms and discussed matters related to regional and international security.

Minister Mirzoyan presented the latest developments in the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan to the President of Syria, as well as the humanitarian crisis caused by Azerbaijan's illegal blockade of the Lachin corridor.
