Hollywood Producer Harvey Weinstein Sentenced to Additional 16 Years for Rape
70-year-old producer Harvey Weinstein, who is already serving a 23-year sentence for sexual crimes, has been sentenced to an additional 16 years in prison for rape, reports Variety.
Weinstein, considered one of the most influential producers in Hollywood, received his first conviction back in 2020. At that time, six women testified against the producer in court, claiming that he had committed sexual crimes against them.
In October 2017, dozens of high-profile actresses, including Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Rose McGowan, accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct. McGowan alleges that the movie mogul raped her in a hotel room. Law enforcement in the United States and the United Kingdom launched investigations into these allegations. Weinstein denies all charges.
