Death Toll from Devastating Earthquake in Turkey Exceeds 43,000: Details

Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has announced that the death toll from the recent earthquakes in Turkey has reached 43,556 people. On February 6, in Kahramanmaraş province in southeastern Turkey, two earthquakes measuring 7.7 and 7.6 magnitudes struck within nine hours of each other. The tremors, followed by hundreds of aftershocks, were felt across 11 provinces in Turkey and in neighboring areas, including Syria.

“At this moment, the number of victims of this disaster is 43,556 people, which is, of course, a significant figure,” Soylu said in an interview with TRT Haber.
