The Hague Court Rejects Azerbaijan's Request: Details

The International Court of Justice has rejected Azerbaijan's request for the application of provisional measures against Armenia.

Additionally, within the context of the case Armenia vs. Azerbaijan, the Hague Court has published a decision, which we present in brief:

"Since December 12, the connection through the Lachin corridor has been disrupted, obstructing the supply of food, medicine, and other essential goods to Nagorno-Karabakh, which can cause irreparable harm. The Court considers that the application of provisional measures is necessary, noting that Azerbaijan is obliged to take measures to ensure the unhindered movement of people and goods in both directions through the Lachin corridor.

The Court believes that the shortage of food and medicine can lead to irreparable consequences for people's lives. Regarding the interruptions in gas supply, Armenia has not provided sufficient evidence linking the gas supply issue to the obstacles created by Azerbaijan."

More details to follow.

It should be noted that Armenia requested the International Court of Justice to apply the following provisional measures: Azerbaijan must cease organizing and supporting so-called “protests” that block the unhindered free movement in both directions of the Lachin corridor, ensure the unhindered free movement of all people, vehicles, and cargo, immediately fully restore and refrain from obstructing the supply of natural gas and other utility services to Nagorno-Karabakh. On the other hand, Azerbaijan is demanding the application of interim measures and obligating Armenia to “end the mining and transporting of mines through the Lachin corridor."
