We Have Not Planned an Attack Against Russia, Biden

The United States and other Western countries do not seek to take control of the Russian Federation and have not planned an attack against it, stated U.S. President Joe Biden in a speech in Warsaw.

Biden delivered his speech in the center of Poland's capital on Tuesday, February 22. Today marks the end of his visit to Poland.

At the same time, Biden reaffirmed the inviolability of Article 5 of NATO's charter, which stipulates that an attack on any member of the alliance constitutes an attack on the entire alliance.

“And let no one doubt that Article 5 of NATO's charter remains unshakable. And let every NATO member realize that an attack on one means an attack on all, and that is a sacred obligation within NATO territory,” he said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia would respond appropriately to plans to turn Ukraine's local conflict into a global confrontation, adding that it is impossible to defeat Russia on the battlefield.

“Western elites do not hide their aim to bring Russia to what they call a strategic defeat, which means the end of us... They intend to turn a local conflict into a phase of global confrontation, we understand all this accordingly and will respond,” said Putin in a speech to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
