Traffic Police Inspectors Arrested for Taking Bribes from Drivers

New cases of public officials demanding and receiving bribes from citizens have been revealed. This information is provided by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia.

Specifically, traffic police inspectors A. S., M. H., V. K., and H. G. received varying amounts of money as bribes from several drivers who had violated traffic rules, in exchange for not recording these violations.

"The four aforementioned inspectors of the Traffic Police were arrested on February 20 on suspicion of receiving bribes by an investigator from the Anti-Corruption Committee," the statement said. An investigation is underway, and necessary measures are being taken to identify the full scope of individuals involved in the apparent criminal activities.
