755 Economic Entities Halt Their Activities Due to the Blockade of Artsakh

According to a report from the Artsakh government, statistical data has been published on day 68 of the blockade of the republic. Currently, 3 children are in the neonatal and intensive care units of a children's hospital. Among adults, 8 are in intensive care, with 5 in critical condition. To date, 261 children have been born during the blockade.

Due to the suspension of planned surgeries in all healthcare facilities in Artsakh, approximately 660 citizens have been deprived of the opportunity to resolve health issues through surgery. As of today, 105 patients have been transferred from Artsakh to Armenia with the mediation and accompaniment of the International Committee of the Red Cross for necessary medical treatment.

A total of 755 economic entities (17.7% of the total) have halted their activities due to the impossibility of working under blockade conditions, while the remaining businesses are operating at reduced capacity or with state support. Because of the complicated economic situation, at least 5,100 people have lost their jobs and sources of income.

More than 26,800 tons of essential goods would have been delivered to Artsakh if it weren't for the blockade, during which only a negligible amount has been supplied by the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Russian peacekeeping forces.
