VIDEO: Lawyers Subjected to Violence in Police Station, Beaten and Abused
During a press conference, the President of the Bar Association, Simon Babayan, reported that colleagues were subjected to violence while performing their professional duties at the Erebuni police station. According to him, force and insults were used against them.
Lawyer Ara Zohrebyan stated that his colleagues had gone to the station to participate in the interrogation of detained minors with a police officer. “In the Erebuni division, psychological pressure was attempted against the lawyers, who were mocked during the interrogation. As a result of provocation, one lawyer was removed from the room and attacked, beaten, and insulted in the corridor. Another lawyer responded to the noise and was also beaten and insulted. They tried to justify themselves by claiming that the lawyer had used offensive language, claiming that they had the right to punish him for that,” he said.
