Snow in Syunik, Yeghagnadzor, and Vardenis: Road Closures Reported

The Rescue Service reports that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.

In the Aragatsotn region, the roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station to Amberd Fortress and Lake Kary are closed. The Vardenyats Pass is closed for truck transports with trailers. The Sisian-Saravan highway is also closed for trucks with trailers and difficult to navigate for other types of vehicles. The Tigranashen curves, as well as the highways of Lori and Gegharkunik regions, including the Lanjik-Mastara, Goris-Sisian, and Ashotzk-Amassia roads, are difficult to traverse.

In the Vardenyats Pass in Syunik Province, there is snow in the cities of Yeghagnadzor and Vardenis. Blizzard conditions have been reported on the Amasia-Ashotzk highway.

Regarding the Lars: Information received from the Emergency Management Department of Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Crisis Management Center of North Ossetia's Ministry of Emergency Situations indicates that the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
