Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry on Peace Treaty Proposals Submitted to Armenia
Baku has submitted proposals regarding a peace treaty to Yerevan 15 days ago, reports the press service of Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry in response to a query from RIA Novosti, as conveyed by Sputnik's Azerbaijani service.
It was noted that on Tuesday, Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated that Armenia has recently received proposals from Azerbaijan concerning a peace treaty and is currently examining them.
"The proposals articulated by Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan were presented by Azerbaijan not a few days ago, but 15 days ago. Azerbaijan advocates for the negotiations on the text of the peace agreement to be conducted in a short time and is always prepared for that," the ministry's statement said.
Yerevan and Baku began discussing the future peace treaty last year with the mediation of Russia, the USA, and the European Union.
