Fire at Iskenderun Port Still Not Extinguished: Turkish Ministry of Defense
The Turkish Ministry of Defense has announced that the fire that erupted at Iskenderun Port has not yet been extinguished.
Earlier, the ministry reported that the fire had been extinguished thanks to the efforts of ground forces helicopters and the Turkish Air Force's aircraft.
Several stacks of containers were piled up during the earthquake on February 6, which led to the suspension of operations at the port. The containers began to ignite in the evening. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
Iskenderun is the largest port in the Eastern Mediterranean region, accommodating oil tankers, bulk carriers, and container ships.
