Video: Rescue Workers in Turkey's Diyarbakir Successfully Evacuate Child Safely
In the city of Diyarbakir, Turkey, rescue workers managed to pull a seven-year-old child out alive from the rubble of a collapsed building, as reported by RIA Novosti's correspondent.
A 7.4 magnitude earthquake occurred at 04:17 in Kahramanmaras province, resulting in destruction across several cities in at least seven provinces.
According to Deputy President Fuad Oktay, the earthquake has claimed 284 lives and injured around 2,500 people.
The child spent over seven hours trapped under the rubble of a house in the Bagcilar neighborhood, located west of the city. Local residents formed a corridor to help transfer the child, wrapped in a blanket due to the cold, to an ambulance.
