Family Members of Former Yerevan State University Rector Summoned to Prosecutor's Office
The daughters and wife of former Rector of Yerevan State University, Aram Simonian—Mariam Simonian, Ani Simonian, and Karine Manasyan—have been summoned to the Anti-Corruption Department of the Republic of Armenia's Prosecutor General's Office regarding cases of property of illicit origin.
"An investigation has been conducted concerning property belonging to Aram Simonian, resulting in a summary report," the notification stated. The former rector's wife and daughters are required to provide explanations, as the property registered in their names is also subject to confiscation.
It is worth noting that former rector and honored figure of science in Armenia, Aram Simonian, passed away last year on June 8 at the age of 67 due to a series of illnesses.
