VIDEO: Chinese Spy Balloon Over US Skies – Pentagon Confirms

The Pentagon has confirmed the sighting of a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon over the United States, noting that it has recorded the use of such devices in recent years. This was stated in a statement released by Pentagon spokesperson Patrick Ryder on Thursday, as reported by TASS.

“The United States government has detected and is tracking a high-altitude surveillance balloon currently flying over the continental United States,” the document states.

According to Ryder, US authorities, including the North American Aerospace Defense Command, “continue to closely monitor” the balloon and its movement.

“The balloon is currently moving significantly higher than commercial air traffic and does not pose a military or physical threat to people on the ground,” Ryder said.

It has been noted that in the years following the detection of such balloons, US authorities have taken immediate steps to prevent the collection of sensitive information.
