Remove Your Dirty Hands: Turkey's Interior Minister
Turkey's Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu has urged the US ambassador in Ankara to "remove [his] dirty hands" from the country, accusing him of attempting to "stir up" Turkey's domestic affairs.
“Every American ambassador is worried about ‘What can I do in Turkey, what can I achieve in Turkey, how can I harm Turkey, how can I be helpful to my fathers?’” he stated. “This has been one of Turkey's biggest misfortunes for many years.
The US ambassador gathers diplomats and tries to advise them. They do the same in Europe; the American embassy runs Europe. Don’t worry, Europeans won't be offended by that. They know this is the case. They actually thought they could design Turkey, but Recep Tayyip Erdoğan thwarted their game,” Soylu added, as reported by RIA Novosti, citing Habertürk television.
“To the American ambassador, I say: I know which journalists you are dictating to, remove your dirty hands from Turkey. I clearly know what you have done, what steps you have taken, and how. You want to provoke Turkey. Remove your dirty hands and mocking masked faces from Turkey. I speak as openly as I can,” he declared.
