Significant Violations Recorded in the Armenian Armed Forces' Engineering Depot: Five Criminal Cases Initiated
The Department for the Protection of State Interests of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Armenia conducted inspections at the central engineering depot of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces from November 2, 2022, until January 12, 2023.
Specifically, emergency inventory checks were carried out, examining the legality and justification of the processes for receiving, accounting, and allocating material resources. The compliance of the qualitative indicators of the material resources supplied for the needs of the Armed Forces with the requirements set out in the technical specifications of the purchase contracts was also verified.
As a result of the comprehensive inspections conducted, a deficit of 93 million 723 thousand 544 drams and an excess of 4 million 355 thousand 725 drams were recorded. Additionally, 198 million 590 thousand 916 drams worth of material resources that did not meet the requirements specified in the technical specifications of the contracts, including spare parts for engineering equipment, were identified.
Based on the results of the aforementioned inspections carried out by the Department for the Protection of State Interests of the Military Prosecutor's Office, five criminal cases have been initiated by the Military Investigative Main Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia based on the reports submitted.
