Official Opens Fake Page and Spread False News: Artsakh NSS

The National Security Service of Artsakh regularly monitors statements circulating on social networks related to specific or abstract criminal cases, aiming to determine their veracity, authors, and pursued goals. This was reported by the NSS of Artsakh.

“In the course of another investigation, it was found that a Facebook page named ‘Artur Baghdasaryan’, which regularly disseminates statements about supposedly criminal acts committed by certain officials, is presented under a false name and is used by an official,” the statement reads.

The official in question has been summoned to the National Security Service of Artsakh and has admitted that the mentioned Facebook page is used by him. He confirmed that the announcements attributed to various individuals are not true and were made for personal purposes.

Social networks today have widespread appeal among the public, and the statements made on them significantly influence public opinion, capable of creating artificial sentiments towards state bodies and officials, thereby harming the interests of the Republic of Artsakh. Therefore, we urge everyone to refrain from distorting public sentiments and opinions, issuing favorable assessments based on personal, group, or other interests, or spreading misinformation that could provoke internal divisions within society, thus protecting the interests of the Republic of Artsakh and its people from external threats and keeping the community free from internal discord,” the statement concludes.

The National Security Service of Artsakh will continue its work in this direction aimed exclusively at ensuring the internal and external security of the Republic of Artsakh.
