Israeli Television Company Reports Lies About Armenia and Iran
Harout Sasounian, publisher of the "California Courier," wrote in his article: "On January 27, Israeli i24NEWS international television aired a half-hour program filled with falsehoods to praise Israel's relations with Azerbaijan while defaming Armenia, Iran, and Russia. This scandalous report had nothing to do with journalism and was entirely related to Azerbaijan's notorious 'caviar diplomacy.' The publisher quoted segments from the broadcast, highlighting that the presenter, Israeli journalist Henrike Tsumeran, said: 'Azerbaijan has problematic neighbors, especially Vladimir Putin's Russia to the north and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's Iran to the south. Nonetheless, its main historical enemy is another neighbor—Armenia, a majority Christian country that has faced Azerbaijan in two major wars, causing thousands of casualties. In the first Nagorno-Karabakh war of 1991, with Russia’s support (the first lie), Armenia managed to seize 10,000 square kilometers of territory in the border zone, about the size of Lebanon. The official goal was to create a buffer zone. For Azerbaijan, 2020 was the year of victory in the second Nagorno-Karabakh war. President Ilham Aliyev’s army regained all territories occupied by Armenians (the second lie), but it turned out that dozens of villages and small towns were completely destroyed and mined (the third lie). This was the case in the Khodafarin region, just a few meters away from Iran's border, on the bank of the Aras River. In this context, Iran supported Armenia (the fourth lie), while Israel supported Azerbaijan.'
The journalist interviewed Azerbaijan's Minister of Religious Affairs Mubarak Qurbanli, who claimed that Armenia 'has occupied their lands.' He then addressed the Iranian side, adding that Iran reproaches Israel, and where was Iran for 30 years when Armenia violated all international laws by seizing Azerbaijani lands, including the Iranian border? Why was Iran silent then?
The presenter continued: 'During our journey along the 700-kilometer border, we saw that Israeli technologies are being used by the Iranian side to monitor the situation, such as high-precision cameras and very modern electronic sensors. According to several sources, these systems support operations carried out by special units and Israeli undercover agents that infiltrate Iran to combat its nuclear projects. According to international media, this is a delicate surgical struggle. Israel consistently maintains its air force pilots in Azerbaijan, as well as several F-35 (USA) fighters, the fifth-generation combat aircraft considered the most advanced in the world. After Iranian military exercises, the F-35 reportedly penetrated Iranian airspace to assess the effectiveness of its air defense systems. (If this is true, then this is a clear confession that Israel has violated its agreement with the U.S. not to transfer F-35s to another country), Sasounian wrote in parentheses.'
