This is a historic event: Expanded meeting between the presidents of Armenia and Egypt is underway

The official welcoming ceremony for Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who arrived in Armenia on a two-day official visit, was held at the residence of the President of the Republic of Armenia. The national anthems of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Armenia were performed by a military band.

President VahAGN Khachaturyan and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, accompanied by the commander of the honor guard, conducted an inspection of the military band and the honor guard. The two presidents introduced the official delegations from their respective countries and accepted the march of the honor guard.

Following the official welcoming ceremony at the presidential residence, Presidents Vahagn Khachaturyan and Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will have a private conversation, after which an expanded meeting involving delegations from both countries will take place. The presidents of Armenia and Egypt will then make a statement to the press.

During the official visit, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi will also meet with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

In his opening remarks, Vahagn Khachaturyan expressed gratitude to the Egyptian president for his visit to Armenia and provided some details about their private conversation. "We are pleased to host you at the presidential residence. This is a historic event. The president of the Arab Republic of Egypt has visited Armenia for the first time, for which I am thankful. We managed to have a brief conversation. The Egyptian president presented the issues facing his country and the region, and I also outlined the challenges for Armenia and the region. It is no secret that Egypt is a great power in its region and has significant experience in mediation, and, most importantly, it shares the idea of living peacefully with neighbors and coexisting in peace. In this regard, we are very similar to each other. The policy of the Republic of Armenia is to achieve peace in the region and to live peacefully and prosperously with our neighbors," the president emphasized.

Vahagn Khachaturyan is confident that Armenia will need Egypt's experience in establishing peace and stability in the region. "I personally need the advice of the Egyptian president, because in its political and military history, it has faced great trials, witnessed wars, and achieved stability and development as a country. Once again, I thank you for your visit. I am confident that our discussions today will be effective and contribute to the development of our two countries," the president concluded.
