Possible Terrorist Attacks in Turkey: 3 Countries Issue Warnings
The embassies of the United States, France, and Germany in Ankara have warned about the risk of terrorism in the country. The German embassy specifically cautioned its citizens in Turkey about possible terrorist attacks following a series of incidents in Europe involving the desecration of the Quran. Previously, similar warnings were issued by the US and French diplomatic missions in Turkey.
According to the German embassy's statement, intelligence assessments suggest an increased threat of terrorist activities in Turkey following a Quran burning incident outside the Turkish embassy in Sweden. The US government has similarly warned of potential retaliatory attacks by terrorists on religious institutions in Turkey.
The embassies in Ankara have urged their citizens to exercise maximum vigilance when visiting public places and to avoid crowded areas.
