U.S. President Joe Biden joked about his frequent mistakes and verbal slip-ups, simultaneously confusing the name of the Democratic congressman from Virginia three times, according to Fox News.

After taking the stage, the American president asked the audience to sit down, recalling that once during a campaign event, he urged guests to take their seats without noticing there were no chairs available for them.

"They say Biden really is ignorant and doesn't know it," the head of state quipped.

After that, he addressed "Congressman Dagi," mistakenly referring to Don Beyer, a member of the House of Representatives present at the event. Spotting the congressman, Biden thanked "Dagi" for facilitating his visit.

"Dagi and I have one thing in common - we both married people who hold a higher position in society," said the American president.

Biden, who turned 80 last year, became the oldest president in U.S. history. He frequently finds himself in amusing situations, which his opponents attribute to his age and potential health issues.
