Amendments Proposed by Armenian Delegation Adopted in the ECHR Resolution
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted the resolution titled 'Progress in the Assembly's Monitoring Procedures' on January 26, covering the period from January to December 2022. This information was published on the Facebook page 'Armenia in the Council of Europe.'
'The amendments proposed by the Armenian delegation were adopted through voting, specifically concerning the immediate release of Armenian prisoners of war by Azerbaijan and the implementation of interim measures by the European Court of Human Rights regarding the Lachin corridor,' the statement said.
It is noteworthy that on January 24 and 26, Armen Gevorgyan, a member of the RA delegation to the PACE and the main rapporteur on local and regional authorities, addressed the discussions on 'Progress in the Assembly's Monitoring Procedures.' He highlighted issues related to Lachin and the potential dispatch of a PACE monitoring mission to the region for fact-finding purposes.
